Baptism

Congratulations on your readiness to baptize your infant into the Catholic Church!

The sacrament of baptism can be scheduled for infants any time of the year for registered parishioners.  First-time parents will begin with a preparation class hosted by another couple in the parish.  Contact the parish office to be admitted to the next available session.  (616) 691-8541

Non-registered parishioners will be asked to submit an affidavit signed by the pastor of the parish where the parishioners are registered and active.

Upon receiving baptism, children who attend a non-Diocesan school are to be enrolled in the parish Religious Education program. We are transitioning from the traditional Religious Education model to a family catechesis program to equip parents as the primary educators of passing on the faith to their children. To learn more go to Faith Formation > Family Faith Formation.

Baptism begins the sacramental life in pursuit of heaven.  To learn more about the sacrament of Baptism, check out the information from the Catechism of the Catholic Church here.

If you are an adult seeking to be baptized, visit Faith Formation > Christian Initiation.
